Eric Robinson retires today after an impressive 45 years with Balcas. First joining on 3rd of March 1978 as a ‘Sawyer’ – his role entailed assessing the quality of logs as they entered the mill before passing for further processing.
Eric progressed to Supervisor of the Log Yard before moving to his current position as Permapost Supervisor, managing a very busy department.
Eric enjoyed a great rapport with his team and wider colleagues and is already legendary as an energetic, enthusiastic and ‘hands-on’ colleague throughout his long-standing career at Balcas. This was reflected in the turnout today for his ‘leaving do’.
Wishing Eric all the very best as he retires, no doubt he will throw himself into new endeavours with the same passion with which he approached his time in Balcas.
